New Member for the Hall of Fame

The Restaurant Association of NZ honour Michael Richards

Congratulations to Michael Lee Richards for being inducted into the Restaurant Association of New Zealand's Hall of Fame. Michael is a well known and respected Foodie from Governors Bay in Canterbury. He joins NZ Heroes like Ruth Pretty, Tony Astle and Judith Tabron in the Hall.
Congratulations also to Ian Thomas, Hawkes Bay, and Chris Fortune, Blenheim. They won the 2006 Innovators Award presented by Restaurant Association of New Zealand . The pair have given huge drive and enthusiasm to the NZ Farmers Market Association.
It's great to visit local Farmers Markets. My favourite is the Dunedin market held each Saturday at the Railway Station.
Speaking of Markets, here in Auckland we have had three new Specialty Food markets open in the Newmarket to Glen Innes areas.
It's super to have such an excellent range of fine products readily available. I'm sure they will do well over the Christmas / party / gift area. However I do hope they do well on the longer term.
